Love the bird shape at first. I think it's really fun.
Then I started to look at it some more, I wonder if the bird appears too top heavy. I picture him walking with extreme waddle or tumbling over.
Maybe move the legs more front and make the shape more round? Less of an angle on the chest, and more "slopey"?
I also know this is just a shape model, but might want to start thinking about the edgeloops around the eye. Also on the cheeks. Not sure how that would work, but maybe I'm thinking too much about it.
Love the overall design though. And the beak looks sweet.
